Celebrating 50 years of Malibu

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet Malibu. While often overshadowed by the brand's more iconic nameplates, the Malibu has quite a rich history of its own. The midsize sedan was first introduced in 1964. Since then, eight generations of the car have been made. It is currently the fourth oldest nameplate in the Chevy lineup (preceded by the Suburban, Corvette and Impala).

It has come a long way since 1964.

The current generation boasts a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine, which puts out 65% more power than the original 3.2-liter six-cylinder. Being one of the first midsize cars that was produced, it paved the way for many others to come.
